Abstract: In order to address the imperfection of existing technical methods and specifications for geological disaster risk assessment and their insufficiency in meeting requirements for construction of offshore wind farm projects, relevant studies were conducted with risk assessment of the first offshore wind farm in the southeast coast of China as an engineering example. Firstly, special marine geological environment conditions and characteristics of the project were analyzed. Then, geological hazard assessment, prediction assessment and comprehensive assessment were carried out. Finally, specific prevention and control measures were proposed. The results show that the geological hazard grade of the engineering site is small to medium, and comprehensive assessment grade is suitable for construction of offshore wind farms. However, reliable measures should be taken for problems of seabed erosion and deposition, soft soil, liquefied soil and solitary rock in the site.
